Ben Bayly’s Baked Camembert

A staple at our Restaurant, Origine, and a French classic. Simple, easy & delicious.
Tip: if you are short on time, this is an easy one and a showstopper!
Ingredients & Methods
- 250g camembert cheese
- 1 clove garlic (finely sliced)
- 40ml Calvados
- Thyme sprigs and roasted thyme leaves (optional, to serve)
- Toasted Bread or your favourite crackers (to serve)
- Preheat the oven to 220°C.
- Place into a small ovenproof baking dish.
- Using a knife, make a few slits in the top of the camembert. Place the garlic clove inside the camembert and pour over the Calvados.
- Bake for 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and gooey and the cheese is golden on top.
- Top the camembert with thyme sprigs and roasted thyme leaves, if using, and serve with toasted bread.
